The feature can be enabled in the "Linked Devices" section of WhatsApp.

WhatsApp users will soon get a new feature that allows them to connect devices without the need for a smartphone to the internet. It is a multi-device feature for Android and iOS users on Whastapp.

Currently, users can connect smartphones to their desktop computers, but the smartphone must be connected to the Internet. With the latest update, WhatsApp will now allow users to connect devices without keeping the smartphone connected to the internet.

WhatsApp multi-device feature rolls out to everyone

The feature of linking your Whastapp account to other devices has been in testing for months. And now, finally, the feature is rolling out on both Android and iOS versions of the app.

The Multi-device feature WhatsApp is in beta phase described as "beta" in the Devices option linked in Settings. Once the option is enabled, your account will be unlinked to all devices.

With the update, you don't need a smartphone to log in, and there's no need to keep your phone near your laptop. All linked devices will receive and send messages for up to 14 days if you don't manually log out.

This feature will be very useful when you lose your smartphone but want to use Whatsapp. Even if your phone runs out of battery and you have a laptop connected near you, it will come in handy.

In the iOS version, you cannot delete messages from a linked device. You can only link your primary smartphone to your laptop.

However, only four devices can be connected at the same time. Earlier in July, the feature was available to Whatsapp Beta users. And now it has reached the stable update of the application.

Once the feature is first enabled from the settings option, the app will display a notification. It says that all previously connected devices will be disconnected. This means that you will need a new login code sent to your device. After that, you can use Whatsapp offline on your smartphone.
