What is the HomeGroup service
What is the HomeGroup service? And how can we disable it to speed up Windows dramatically!
The Windows system is a system that contains many hidden features that run in the background of your device, which affects the efficiency and speed of the latter, so we must as much as possible search for such hidden features or services and disable them to get a faster speed than before, and the topic of this article It is related to one of these services on the Windows system, which is called HomeGroup. In addition, we will discuss how you can take advantage of it to speed up the device.
What is a HomeGroup A
Home Group is a network that allows you to share all kinds of files such as photos, videos, audio, documents, printers...etc between computers connected to the same network, where without the need to install programs or tools you can share files without having your device available Over Bluetooth or something like that, you can protect the Home Group with a password and it doesn't allow other users to change the files you share unless you give them permission to do so. This feature is available on all versions of Windows 7, 8 and 8.1, so it is not present on Windows 10. Exit HomeGroup
Before disabling this feature to speed up your device, you must first exit from it, and the method is very easy. It is enough for you to go to the settings of the HomeGroup by searching for the word “HomeGroup” in the search engine, or also by going to Control Panel and then heading to HomeGroup, and after moving to the latter Click on the leave-homegroup option.
You confirm the process by pressing again on Leave the HomeGroup and then click on Finish to complete the process.
Only when you complete the process will you notice a significant development and speed of note in your network.
Stopping the HomeGroup service The
process here is somewhat more complicated than the previous one, but be sure that once you stop this service you will notice the real and basic speed of your system. To access the list of services through which we will be able to access the HomeGroup service, you must go to Control Panel, then Administrative Tools, then Services to see a window with all the services running on your device.
After entering the list, you will look for two types of HomeGroup service, the first is HomeGroup Listener and the second is HomeGroup Provider, you must disable both options.
To disable any option you want, it is enough for you to go to it and then click on it with the right mouse button, then go to Properties and then go to the Startup Type option after making sure that you are in the General section and finally select Disabled in the drop-down list, and now all that remains for you is to press Apply and then Ok, Of course, when you do this process in both services, the HomeGroup feature will be disabled, and if you are a Windows 7 user, the feature will be permanently deleted, but if you are using a newer system than it, you must do the next step.
First of all, it is necessary to tell you that this process is complex and dangerous at the same time, as any error may lead to your system to crash, so if you are not confident or do not understand anything of what I told you in this explanation, please ask me in the comments. If the first thing you press Windows key + R and then type “regedit” after that you press Ok, now follow the following path:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Classes\CLSID\{B4FB3F98-C1EA-428d-A78A-D1F5659CBA93}
Make sure you are accessing the CLSID and not the .CLSID .
As you can see in the image, press New, then DWORD 32 Bit Value, then call the new value System.IsPinnedToNameSpaceTree .
If you are unable to create a new DWORD menu, right-click on the registry entry, then go to Permissions, then Advanced, then Change. Now you enter your user account on Windows, then Ok.
After that, you return to the first permissions page and then choose Full Control.
I hope from the bottom of my heart that this explanation has benefited you, especially since I did my best in it to make the explanation simple and easy for you to understand.
