How to unlock the camera from the Pixel lock screen
Android 12 has added a lot of new features to Google Pixel devices, but it has also taken some of them away. Shorten the camera shortcut that has long existed on the lock screen. So how do you quickly open a camera?
Fortunately, Android devices feature several different ways to quickly turn on the camera. Google Pixel devices are no different. The screen lock shortcut was easy, but it's not actually the fastest way. There is something better.
Quick summary: Google Pixel Android 12 devices have two shortcuts on the lock screen – smart home device controls and wallet. Previously, these two abbreviations were intended for phone and camera.
To turn on the camera without lock screen shortcut, simply double press the power button. The camera will open immediately.
This works from anywhere. This includes the lock screen and when the screen is not on. Just double press the power button and the camera will start. Piece of cake.
Note: This does not bypass the protection on your lock screen. It only opens the camera. You will need to properly unlock your Pixel phone to leave the camera.
There: You don't have to worry about missing a moment because you can't get the camera out fast enough. It's a bit strange that Google removes this shortcut, but it makes sense that the camera can be turned on with the power button.
