One of the best functions supported by the Google Chrome desktop browser is the large number of extensions that can be installed on the browser. These are extensions which are small tools that can be installed in Chrome to change the functionality of the browser. This includes adding new features to Chrome or customizing the browser experience to make it more user friendly. If you're looking for a way to create and develop your own plugin, Google can help you with that without having to know a single line of code, with the new Tab Maker tool. It is a free service that allows you to create custom tab extensions using simple templates. You can create an extension that displays images on the Chrome New Tab page, or create an extension that shows you local news every time you open a new tab.

The process is very simple, just head over to the Tab Maker website, and start creating your own tab extension by clicking on the Make Your Own option

The new tool takes you through each step of creating your own extensions. In the examples shown on the site, you can set the Chrome tab to teach you something new, display random images, or even find out the latest news from local sources. In practice, you'll start by choosing one of 11 different templates, and once selected, you'll be provided with a link to a Google Spreadsheet in order to follow the on-screen instructions to design your own.

After you've created your extension, you can download it as a ZIP file and then install it on Chrome. And since all the information is in a Google Spreadsheet, you can refer to it and update it whenever you want. Google also provides instructions on what you need to do to publish these extensions to the Chrome Web Store if you want to share your creations with the public.
