Google Chrome 97 releases the version on Android and Windows
Google has released version 96 of its Chrome browser, which now looks more in line with the Windows 11 user interface. Along with the stable Chrome 96 version, the company has also announced Chrome 97 Beta with a new privacy feature, or rather a revamp of an existing one.
The new menu puts all site data in one place so that you can easily track which sites store data on your computer, including cookies, of course. The new location data controls are located in the same submenu; Settings > Privacy and Security > Site Settings > View permissions and data stored across files.
With the new listing, Google has eliminated its finer controls over cookies and site data. The reason behind this change is that Google thinks it is more clear to the average user. However, these options will still be available to developers in DevTools.
Finally, Chrome 97 beta includes support for the WebTransport API and CSS media queries to check the state of HDR support for a specific device.
