How to turn off photos in Spotlight search results on iPhone
By default, iPhone will display photo suggestions with thumbnails in Spotlight search results on iOS 15 or higher. It can be useful, but it can also clutter up search results. Here's how to disable or hide photo thumbnails.
Problem
On the home screen, if you swipe down with one finger to perform a search and type a query, you will see possible matches pulled from your iPhone photo library displayed as thumbnails in the results.
Your iPhone uses its AI image recognition algorithms to match the words you type with the photos in your library. It's a great feature, but it's not for everyone. Fortunately, it's easy to disable.
How to fix it
First, open Settings by clicking on the gear icon.
In Settings, scroll down and select "Photos".
In Siri & Search, click the switch next to "Show content in search" to turn it off.
Next, exit the settings. The next time you search Spotlight, you won't see thumbnails in the search results. Happy search!
