macOS Monterey is now available
Apple has officially announced the latest version of its Mac OS, macOS Monterey . The system has been available in the Public Beta for several months, but today's release means that Apple believes the software is ready for everyday use.
As usual, Apple announced its latest version of macOS at the WWDC Worldwide Developers Conference in June. New features include the ability to set Macs as an AirPlay device to play content from iPhones and iPads, as well as Shortcuts. There have also been improvements made to the FaceTime app, as well as the new Quick Note feature. You can read the full features of the new system on the official Apple website .
Unfortunately, some of the biggest new additions to the new system, such as Universal Control and SharePlay, don't appear to be available at launch. Apple clarified that both features will be available "later this fall."
Universal Control allows files to be dragged and dropped between many different devices, Apple's Craig Federighi explained at the WWDC conference. It will also allow you to control multiple Apple devices including Macs, MacBooks, and iPads using the same mouse and keyboard.
Share Play will enable you to share music, movies, and shows through FaceTime calls. Once it's available, Apple says you can use the feature with Apple Music, Apple TV+, and third-party apps by using the Apple API.
Furthermore, the Safari browser has been redesigned, which by default uses a more monotonous interface instead of the controversial new tab design introduced at WWDC. Early users complained that the changes, among other things, made it very difficult to determine which tab is currently active.

There are two versions of the machines that got Big Sur last year that were left off Monterey's list. They include the 2015 MacBook, the 2013 MacBook Air, the late 2013 MacBook Pro, and the 2014 iMac. Here's Apple's guide to identifying your device in use.
To install Monterey, go to System Preferences the System Preferences On > System Update the System Update , (or search for the System Update Software Update). If Monterey system is available as installing the back, you can press the button upgrade Upgrade to start the installation process. If it doesn't show up, you may need to recheck later, as it is still being asked.
