iOS 15: Copy and paste images and text via drag-and-drop across apps

Apple has released the iOS 15 update with new features like drag and drop. With this update, the user can drag images, text, documents and files between the two applications. Earlier, the drag-and-drop feature worked with only one app.

This new update within iOS 15 can change the way texts and photos are copied on your Apple device. The drag-and-drop feature across new apps will come in handy in many tasks.

The drag-and-drop feature is even more important for phones, as repeating tasks requires doing the same things over and over again. For example, attaching a file in the mail is now easy. You need to drag the file from the folder and drop it into the mail. The file will be attached without opening a single menu.

In the same email, if you want to attach another image, just drag and drop the image. Earlier, you had to go to the library everywhere to find the image and then attach it.

How to use the drag-and-drop feature across apps on iPhone?
The new feature works exactly as before; only one step is added to move items from one app to another.

Open the Photos app on your iPhone
Select the image you want to paste
Press and hold the image and drag it.
The image will begin to float under your finger.
Now, use another finger and swipe up from the bottom of the screen and see a preview of the open app.
Select the app where you want to paste the copied item
Once you open the app, drop the item you copied. (Simply lift a finger that was holding the copied image)
This process is quite similar to its work on computers. This same process can be done by dropping text from one application to another.

One of the best things about this feature is that it works with images, text, files, and documents.

Earlier, in June, Apple introduced the new version of iOS 15 and released it on September 20. It brought many new features to FaceTime calls, privacy features, redesigned Safari, weather, maps, and more.
