Everything you want to know about the PS5 Pro PlayStation 5 Pro release date, price and specifications
The PS5 Pro will be available soon in the markets and you certainly want to know its release date, price and everything related to it, and we will provide you with everything about it and more than you can imagine, but before that I want to ask you, do you remember the first PlayStation you owned from Sony? I remember of course it was an amazing device that made a slightly annoying sound when starting up, but it was a very wonderful device that reminded me of my childhood, I feel that we have taken great steps into the future, as I am here with you announcing the PlayStation 5 Pro, which Sony talks about as a game changer, so let's take an insightful look at the PS5 Pro that Sony recently revealed.
This isn’t the first time Sony has launched an updated console, with the PS4 Pro introduced in the last generation of consoles with the goal of making 4K gaming more commonplace. The PS5 Pro builds on that concept, aiming to deliver a more consistent 4K/60fps (or higher) gaming experience. To do this, the PS5 Pro is equipped with some impressive hardware and software upgrades compared to the base PS5 model.
PS5 Pro release date and cost
You won't have to wait long for the PlayStation 5 Pro to be released , as it will be available from November 7, 2024. Pre-orders will start on September 26, 2024. The PlayStation 5 generation may be coming to an end, and while that will be in two years, Sony's executive vice president Naomi Matsuoka is looking to find the right balance between "profitability and sales" as PS5 sales decline.
It will come as no surprise that the PS5 Pro will cost more than the regular PS5, with a launch price of $700 in the US, while other regions will see prices of £700, €800, and ¥119,980. That makes it a very expensive console, although inflation is narrowing the gap with older consoles.
Difference between PS5 Pro and PS5
While Sony has shown off some major improvements to the PlayStation 5 Pro, it hasn't revealed exactly what's inside the new console. According to previous leaks , the PlayStation 5 Pro specs include a "High CPU Frequency Mode" that increases the PS5's CPU by 10% to 3.85GHz.
Here is a table that shows you the difference between the PS5 Pro and the PS5:

TFLOPs/GPU Speed | 33.5 TFLOPs/ 2.18 GHz (not confirmed yet) | 10.23 TFLOPs/ 2.23 GHz |
GDDR6 memory | 16GB at 18GB/s | 16GB at 14Gbps |
Available memory for games | 13.7 GB | 12.5 GB |

PS5 Pro Specifications
Sony has revealed the “major upgrade” to the PS5 Pro on its blog, which is expected to nearly double the power of the base PS5. On the hardware side, the console features an improved graphics processor, and on the software side, Sony is introducing PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution, an AI-based image upscaling tool similar to Nvidia’s DLSS and AMD’s FSR.
Enhanced graphics processor
“With PS5 Pro , we’re upgrading the graphics processor to have 67% more compute units than the current PS5 and 28% faster memory. Overall, this enables 45% faster rendering of games, making the experience smoother.” Compared to PlayStation5.
Advanced ray tracing
“We’ve added more powerful ray tracing, providing more dynamic light reflection and refraction, allowing rays to shoot at double, and sometimes triple, speeds compared to the current PS5.”
Enhance image resolution using artificial intelligence
“We’re also introducing PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution, an AI-powered image upscaling technology that uses machine learning to deliver ultra-high-definition image clarity by adding a massive amount of detail.”
Enhanced Games on PS5 Pro
Just like the PS4 Pro, the PS5 Pro will play all the games available on the PS5, but with enhanced features and overall better performance.
“Game makers are adding PS5 Pro support to new and old games , and the results can be truly stunning, with graphics that display Fidelity-like levels of detail but at double the frame rate,” PS5 lead system architect Mark Cerny explained in a PS5 Pro livestream. “This goal of delivering Fidelity-like graphics at performance frame rates has been achieved for a wide range of games, including Marvel’s Spider-Man and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart.
We can see that PS5 Pro is getting closer to doubling the power of PS5.” So far, 13 PS5 Pro-optimized games have been revealed, and the list includes a mix of first- and third-party titles.
The PS5 Pro doesn't deviate from the current design of the PS5 and its slimmer version, the new model has several line-like patterns down the middle, and is roughly the same height and width as the original PS5 to accommodate the higher performance specifications.
What's inside the PS5 Pro box?
The PS5 Pro comes with a 2TB SSD, a DualSense controller, and a copy of Astro's Playroom preinstalled, just like the standard PS5. The Pro does not come with a vertical stand; that must be purchased separately.
The PS5 Pro doesn’t include a disc drive, but it does support the PS5 Disc Drive accessory. That means existing PS5 owners will need to purchase an official $80 PS5 Disc Drive to play their collection of physical games on the PS5 Pro.
The disc drive will also be necessary to play movies, and Sony says the PS5 Pro is compatible with existing PS5 accessories, including the PlayStation VR2, PlayStation Portal, DualSense Edge controller, Access controller, Pulse Elite headset, and Pulse Explore earbuds. The PS5’s user interface and network services will also remain the same.
In the end, after all these details and specifications, I can't help but feel very excited about the launch of this PS5 Pro device that promises to open new horizons in the world of gaming, and I am excited to see what this device will offer us. Tell me, will you buy this amazing device or will you be satisfied with the PS5 device?
