Vivo announces its new smartphone iQOO Z9 Turbo Plus
Vivo has announced the iQOO Z9 Turbo Plus, the company's latest smartphone in the iQOO Z9 series. The device features several changes compared to the iQOO Z9 Turbo, including a different chipset, a bigger battery, Wi-Fi 7 wireless network standard, and improved intrusion protection.
The phone has a 6.78-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2800 x 1260 pixels, a refresh rate of 144 Hz, high-frequency PWM dimming, a peak brightness of 4500 nits, and support for HDR10+ and Dolby Vision.
There is a built-in Q1 gaming chip, which supports ultra-high resolution and ultra-high frame rate for multi-games.
Vivo has replaced the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor in the iQOO Z9 Turbo with a MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ processor with Immortalis-G720 GPU.
The processor is paired with 12GB or 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM and 256GB or 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage.
The phone features a liquid cooling design with a 6043 square mm vapor chamber.
Vivo has equipped the phone with a dual rear camera, with a 50-megapixel primary lens with a 1/1.95-inch Sony LYT-600 sensor, f/1.79 aperture, and optical image stabilization, and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens with a GC08A3 sensor, f/2.2 aperture, and 4K video recording. There is also a 16-megapixel front camera with an f/2.45 aperture.
The iQOO Z9 Turbo Plus runs Origin OS 4 based on Android 14, and includes an under-display fingerprint sensor, infrared sensor, USB Type-C port, and speakers.
The new Vivo device measures 163.72mm x 75.88mm x 7.98mm, weighs 196g, and is IP65 dust and splash resistant.
The phone is powered by a 6,400mAh battery that supports 80W fast charging.
The company says the battery can maintain more than 80 percent of its health even after 4 years of use or up to 1,600 charge-discharge cycles.
Vivo is launching the iQOO Z9 Turbo Plus at a price of $330 for the 12GB + 256GB version, $370 for the 12GB + 512GB version, $360 for the 16GB + 256GB version, and $415 for the 16GB + 512GB version.
