Raspberry Pi 5 2GB A new and cheaper option for users
Raspberry Pi 5 2GB! Electronics enthusiasts are excited to see a new device hit the market, the Raspberry Pi 5, with 2GB of RAM. Starting at $50, this device offers a great budget option for those looking for a high-performance microcomputer.
Raspberry Pi 5 2GB Specifications Don't Underestimate Its Power
Despite the lower RAM capacity in this version, it doesn’t necessarily mean a lack of capabilities, it simply means that it won’t be suitable for tasks that require a lot of RAM. Eben Upton, CEO of the Rii Pi Foundation, confirms that this device is “functionally identical to its predecessor.”
Raspberry Pi 5 2GB is an ideal choice for casual users.
When the Raspberry Pi 5 launched last year, it was only available with 4GB of RAM for $60 and 8GB for $80, making them $5 more expensive than the equivalent versions of the Raspberry Pi 4. While the new 2GB version may not be ideal for running AI apps or using it as a full-blown media center, Upton says many customers will find it “works perfectly” for less demanding uses.
The power of the Raspberry Pi 5 2GB is now within everyone's reach
The Raspberry Pi 5 2GB is the most powerful microcomputer ever made by the Raspberry Pi Foundation, featuring its own RP1 I/O controller and a quad-core Arm Cortex-A76 processor clocked at 2.4GHz. To create the 2GB version, the foundation built an improved version of the processor that stripped out any unnecessary functionality, resulting in a cheaper chip with the same features, including a PCI Express 2.0 interface.
