Huge Updates from Apple.. Major AI Features Coming with iOS 18.2
Apple has announced the release of new beta updates for developers, including beta versions of iOS 18.2, iPadOS 18.2, and macOS Sequoia 15.2 for iPhone, iPad, and Mac computers, respectively.
According to what was monitored in these updates, Apple will provide new features within its set of artificial intelligence features known as Apple Intelligence , which it had previously announced, such as the feature of generating images and emojis, integrating ChatGPT, and other new features and changes.
One of the most notable features of the new update is the Genmoji emoji generator feature, which allows users to create custom faces and emojis directly from the keyboard.
This feature can be accessed by tapping the Genmoji button in the emoji panel, and entering the description you want to create the emoji.
The system will display multiple options to choose from, and these emojis can be used as quick replies to messages. Other emojis can be created based on friends' photos, and photos stored on the phone.
Apple also today rolled out an API for the Genmoji feature, allowing third-party messaging apps like WhatsApp, Telegram, and others to display these characters.
Apple also introduces the Image Playground feature in its new updates, which is a feature that can be accessed from the Messages app, and allows users to create images based on conversations, text descriptions, or images from the gallery, in specific artistic styles such as animation and illustrations, and realistic images of people cannot be created at the moment.
In addition, Apple is introducing the Image Wand feature as part of its Apple Pencil tools update, which helps transform simple drawings into more precise works of art.
Apple has integrated the ChatGPT intelligent robot into its Siri smart assistant and smart writing tools.
When a user asks Siri to create a travel plan or training program, the personal assistant may suggest using ChatGPT to perform these tasks. Users can allow the system to use ChatGPT frequently or as needed, as it is available as an optional option, not a mandatory one.
It is worth noting that using ChatGPT does not require a special account, as Apple has entered into an agreement with OpenAI that guarantees that users' personal data will not be stored or used to train models. If the user links his account to ChatGPT, OpenAI's privacy policies will apply.
In addition to integrating ChatGPT, Apple is offering new writing tools that allow options like rephrasing, summarizing, and proofreading.
As for iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro users, they will be able to experience the Visual Intelligence feature, which allows them to use the camera to get answers to mathematical problems or information about items in the surrounding environment, using online search, which is similar to the visual search feature from Google Lens.
It is worth noting that all of these new features will be available for the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 16, in addition to Mac computers and iPads powered by Apple Silicon M processors.
